Carl Jenkinson delighted to open Arsenal account

Carl Jenkinson expresses his delight after scoring his first goal for Arsenal during Sunday's 2-0 victory at Norwich City.

Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has expressed his delight after scoring his first goal for the club in Sunday's 2-0 win at Norwich City.

The 22-year-old found the net in the 62nd minute at Carrow Road as the Gunners ended their Premier League campaign with a victory.

Jenkinson, who was making his 57th appearance for the club, admits that he had dreamed of scoring for Arsenal since he was a young boy.

"It took a while but I got there in the end," he told the club's official website. "Since I was a kid I've been an Arsenal fan, I've scored that goal 100 times in my back garden and celebrated like I'm celebrating in front of the fans.

"I'm a defender so I'm not going to score too many goals and hopefully that will kickstart it now and I will get a few more."

Sunday's victory saw fourth-placed Arsenal finish the season with five wins in a row.
