Emmanuel Frimpong reveals that he wants to emulate Jack Wilshere by proving that he has recovered from a long spell on the sidelines during his time on loan at Fulham.

Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has declared that he wants to prove that he can follow Jack Wilshere in recovering from a career-threatening injury during his loan spell at Fulham.

Frimpong is at Craven Cottage until the end of the season in an effort to secure first-team football after recovering from a pair of knee ligament injuries that have hampered the youngster's progress.

The Ghanaian told The Sun: "I have had loads of injuries but I mean to get over it just like Jack has.

"The boss at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger, told me to come here and get some games under my belt because there is no point sitting on the bench at Arsenal.

"Then I'll go back next season and see what happens."

The 21-year-old made his Fulham debut in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road.
