Cesc Fabregas denies giving an interview about former club Arsenal in which he said they will not be successful.

Cesc Fabregas has denied giving an interview about his former club Arsenal in which he supposedly said that he could not see them winning trophies any time soon.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who left the Emirates over the summer to return to his boyhood club Barcelona, has used his Twitter account to claim that he never gave the alleged interview with Sport magazine.

"Id never speak 1 bad word abt AFC, here there's once more prove that so many people put in newspaper wtv they want and its not professional," he tweeted.

"I want Arsenal to be successful as much as every single fan. Thats not why i left, it was never in my mind. AFC made me who i am today.

"I never gave any interview away since my press conference at my presentation and there i just said the truth and what came out of my heart. Great words abt this great football club cause that just what they deserve: success and trophies."

Fabregas joined Arsenal in 2003 and went on to captain the club before departing in August.
