Mason Mount issues a message to Manchester United fans on social media after confirmation that he will miss a number of weeks following his injury against Manchester City last weekend.
The Englishman's signing was met positively by fans in the summer of 2023, as while his fee of £55m might have seemed expensive considering he had just one year left on his contract, the attacker had shown he was capable of being exceptionally productive in the final third.
However, Mount has endured an injury-plagued spell at Old Trafford, playing just 15.1% of available minutes in the Premier League last term, and he has played around 15% of United's league minutes this season.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Mount said: "Words can't portray how devastated I'm feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.
"United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.
"I've said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won't stop until that's achieved."
When Mount was at his best for Chelsea, he was praised for his relentless tenacity and desire to win, and there is no doubt that he will give everything to return to action as soon as possible.

Can Amorim rely on Mount?
Mount's skillset when fit would make him an ideal candidate to play in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-3 system, with the two positions behind the central striker suiting the Englishman.
There are few players in the United squad that can boast his pace, power and technical ability, and there are fewer still that can say they work as hard out of possession.
While Mount is a stylistic fit for Amorim, it is difficult to see how the Red Devils boss can rely on the attacking midfielder given his injury history, especially when the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo seem to have already nailed down starting spots.
The Manchester derby was only Mount's fourth start in the Premier League this season - the second under Amorim - and the severity of the Englishman's fitness woes could be extremely damaging to his career prospects considering he has been unable to make much of an impression on the new boss.
