Arsene Wenger insists that managing Arsenal has prepared him for hell.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that managing the Gunners has prepared him for hell.

Wenger, who was forced to sell both Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri this summer, before losing Jack Wilshere for up to three months, insists that he will be well-prepared for the underworld because he is used to suffering.

"In my job you expect to suffer," he told reporters. "So, that's why, when I go to hell one day, it will be less painful for me than for you, because I'm used to suffering. I could write a book about the summer, I think it would be quite interesting.

"Not because of me but because of all that happened. It was quite unbelievable. And you would see that it was not as easy as it can look from the outside.

"It was the most disturbed pre-season we've had since I have been here. We lost two big players, then had the problem of the injuries as well."

The Gunners will be looking for their first win of the season against Swansea this afternoon, after losing 8-2 to Manchester United in their last Premier League game.
