Jack Wilshere says Arsenal will not rush him back to fitness after it was revealed that he will miss a further two months through injury.

The 19-year-old midfielder picked up an ankle injury in pre-season. Initially it was only thought to be a short-term problem, but this latest setback will see him return around November.

"They're not pushing me at all," he told Absolute Radio.

"I spoke to the manager and he told me to take my time and come back when I'm ready because there's no point me coming back and having another six weeks away, so I'm just taking my time and getting ready.

"I've had a bit of a setback but I'm still feeling good about the season, and hopefully I'll be back as soon as possible."

The Gunners will be looking to pick up their first win of the season when they entertain Swansea City at the Emirates on Saturday.
