Members of the Arsenal team are reportedly restless at Arsene Wenger's leadership, despite public displays of support.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly in danger of losing the Arsenal dressing room as the players become increasingly more restless with the Frenchman.

The Gunners boss came under fierce criticism from supporters for his decision to substitute youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for out-of-favour midfielder Andrey Arshavin during Arsenal's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

The Gunners' captain Robin van Persie appeared baffled at Wenger's decision to pull off the England Under-21 international, who contributed to the Dutchman's equaliser at the Emirates.

Despite the striker publicly denying a problem with his boss, it is thought that a number of players are frustrated with Wenger at the helm, according to the Daily Star.

The French boss defended his tactical decision after the match.
