Arsenal 'hire former Barcelona director Raul Sanllehi'

Arsenal will reportedly announce the arrival of former Barcelona sporting director Raul Sanllehi today.

Arsenal are reportedly planning to announce the appointment of former Barcelona director of football Raul Sanllehi today.

The North London outfit opted to keep hold of manager Arsene Wenger on a two-year deal, but the recruitment side of the club is being restructured.

Sanllehi is expected to work with Wenger, as well as Sven Mislintat, who was installed as head of recruitment last week following a spell at Borussia Dortmund.

According to the Daily Mail, the new director will begin his role today after calling time on a 15-year stint at Barcelona, where he worked his final day on Monday.

The appointment of Sanllehi has been made to help the club attract big-name stars to the Emirates ahead of the January transfer window.

The former Barcelona director played a huge role in getting Neymar and Luis Suarez to Camp Nou.
