Aaron Ramsey returns to Arsenal squad

Aaron Ramsey will return to the Arsenal squad for Saturday's Premier League clash at basement club Sunderland.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey will return to the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash at basement club Sunderland.

The Welshman has not represented the Gunners since suffering a hamstring injury on the opening weekend of the 2016-17 campaign at home to Liverpool.

However, after stepping up his recovery over the last couple of weeks, the versatile midfielder is now ready to return to action as Arsenal look to continue their strong run of form.

"Aaron Ramsey will be back in the squad," Wenger told reporters at his pre-match press conference when questioned on the shape of his squad ahead of the Sunderland fixture.

Theo Walcott, Nacho Monreal and Santi Cazorla are all injury doubts for the Gunners this weekend, while Spanish forward Lucas Perez is facing "six to eight weeks" on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage.
