Report: Arsenal's Lucas Perez out for six weeks

A report claims that ankle ligament damage will keep Arsenal striker Lucas Perez on the sidelines for the next six weeks.

Arsenal forward Lucas Perez is reportedly facing six weeks on the sidelines after picking up an ankle injury during Tuesday's 2-0 win over Reading in the League Cup.

The summer signing from Deportivo La Coruna was forced off in the 72nd minute of the EFL Cup fixture and, according to the IB Times, suffered ankle ligament damage in a challenge with Reading's Danzell Gravenberch.

Arsenal are yet to comment on the seriousness of the injury, but Perez is expected to be unavailable for the club's upcoming key fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

The 28-year-old, who is believed to have cost Arsenal in the region of £17m, has scored twice in six appearances for his English club this season.
