Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs Arsenal

Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham Hotspur's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's North London showdown with Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur travel to fierce North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday with a point to prove after last weekend's disappointing defeat at home to Newcastle United.

The Lilywhites dominated possession against Steve Bruce's Magpies but just could not create enough to break down the side from the North-East's stubborn resistance.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have had a mixed start since breaking their transfer record in the summer, having won one, drawn one and lost one this season.

Defeat to adversaries Arsenal could put the disgruntled Pochettino under pressure going into the international break.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for the side from N17.

Dele Alli

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 1 (vs. Arsenal)

Hamstring injuries have been a nuisance for Dele Alli over the last 12 months, but the England international could be in line to return against Arsenal on Sunday. Whether or not Pochettino will feel able to thrust the 23-year-old straight into the starting lineup for such an important game, however, is a different matter.

Juan Foyth

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: September 28 (vs. Southampton)

Argentina international Juan Foyth looked a strong contender to start the season at right-back before an ankle injury picked up against Bayern Munich in pre-season ruled him out. The 21-year-old won't return until late September at the earliest.

Kyle Walker-Peters

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Twenty-two-year-old full-back Kyle Walker-Peters will be cursing his luck after picking up a hamstring injury last week against Newcastle, having finally seemingly secured a starting spot at right-back for his boyhood team. The England youth international is very unlikely to feature against Newcastle.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Deadline-day capture Ryan Sessegnon will again miss out with a hamstring injury. Spurs fans have had to be patient to see their new man in action, but could see the 19-year-old after the international break.

Tanguy Ndombele

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: September 1 (vs. Arsenal)

Tottenham fans will be praying that record signing Tanguy Ndombele is able to return to the starting lineup against Arsenal on Sunday. The 22-year-old missed the Newcastle match with a hamstring strain picked up in training.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham Hotspur have no players suspended for this match.
