AC Milan have reportedly made the breakthrough in negotiations as they bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Serge Aurier.
Despite Spurs having sold fellow right-back Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid, it has been suggested that the North London outfit are willing to consider offers for Aurier.
According to Soccerlink, Milan have made progress in an effort to bring in the Ivory Coast international before the end of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that while Aurier is keen to make the switch to San Siro, Spurs are prepared to hold out for €25m (£22.56m), a fee similar to the one which they spent two years ago.
The 26-year-old has made just 41 outings in all competitions since leaving Paris Saint-Germain for North London.
Should Spurs agree to sell Aurier, it would leave Kyle Walker-Peters and Juan Foyth to compete for the role on the right-hand side of the defence.
