Referee Mike Jones says he saw the Robin van Persie and Carlos Cuellar elbow incident and felt it wasn't worthy of punishment, meaning the Dutchman will face no further action.

Robin van Persie will face no further action over an elbow incident with Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar in their FA Cup fourth round tie yesterday.

Villa boss Alex McLeish had said he wanted the Football Association to review the footage, describing it as "a clear elbow", and punish Van Persie for any wrongdoing.

However, referee Mike Jones said he saw the incident and thought it was not worthy of punishment.

Van Persie scored two penalties as Arsenal came back from a two-goal half-time deficit to triumph 3-2 and advance to the last 16, where they will face either Middlesbrough or Sunderland.
