Rangers have stretched their winning run to 11 matches after a 2-1 victory at Dumbarton.
It took 64 minutes for Rangers to break the deadlock through Martyn Waghorn, and the former Leicester City man added the second from the penalty spot. Garry Fleming pulled a goal back for Dumbarton in the 90th minute.
Hibernian moved up to third but struggled to beat bottom club Livingston. Liam Henderson's free kick into the top right corner separated the teams.
Colin Hamilton rescued a point in the 89th minute for Alloa Athletic against local rivals Falkirk who had gone ahead 20 minutes earlier through a John Baird penalty.
Mid-table sides Queen of the South and Greenock Morton played out a 2-2 draw with a Luca Gasparotto own goal securing a point for Queens in the 81st minute.
In Friday evening's match, Craig Wighton scored the winner as Raith Rovers defeated St Mirren 2-1.
Rangers victory has stretched their lead at the top of the Scottish Championship table to seven points.
