Ajax director of football Marc Overmars confirms that Miralem Sulejmani is nearing a move away from the club.

Ajax have confirmed that Miralem Sulejmani is nearing a move away from the Amsterdam ArenA.

The Serbian striker, who remains the club's record signing following his €16m (£13m) move from Heerenveen in 2008, will be out of contract next year.

"We are aware of the interest from Besiktas and [Borussia] Monchengladbach," Ajax director of football Marc Overmars told De Telegraaf.

"When the clubs move, we can definitely work out a deal. That's important for Miralem, if he wants to play in the second half of the season.

"He is not part of Frank de Boer's plans, and I expect that won't change soon."

Sulejmani has failed to score in the six games that he has played for Ajax this season.
