Vurnon Anita's father confirms that his son is eager to hold talks with Alan Pardew before agreeing to sign for Newcastle United.

The father of Vurnon Anita has revealed that his son and client wants to meet Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew before he completes his move from Ajax.

Anita suggested earlier this week that he does want to talk to Pardew in the near future after Ajax accepted a bid for the 23-year-old on the weekend.

"We are not sure yet," Anita's father said. "Vurnon first wants to talk to the head coach of Newcastle United.

"Newcastle United and Ajax are well agreed, but Vurnon wants to know what the plans of the head coach of Newcastle United are with him."

Anita would reportedly cost Newcastle £6.6m if the deal is completed.
