Saturday's League One predictions including Wycombe vs. MK Dons

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's League One fixtures, including Wycombe Wanderers vs. MK Dons.

AFC Wimbledon vs. Shrewsbury (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Shrewsbury Town will be looking to return to winning ways in League One when they continue their campaign away to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday afternoon.

The home side are currently 20th in the table, just one point outside the relegation zone, while Shrewsbury occupy 17th position, three points above their opponents this weekend.

We say: AFC Wimbledon 1-1 Shrewsbury Town

Wimbledon have struggled at home this season, while Shrewsbury have found it difficult to pick up positive results on their travels, so it is tough to call this match. Neither manager would be too pleased with a point, but we are finding it hard to separate them and have therefore settled on a low-scoring draw.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Accrington vs. Morecambe (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Morecambe will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in League One when they continue their campaign away to Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors will enter the match off the back of a 3-2 victory over high-flying Wycombe Wanderers, while Accrington suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town last time out.

We say: Accrington Stanley 2-2 Morecambe

This has all of the makings of an entertaining game of football, and we are predicting goals this weekend. Morecambe were excellent against Wycombe, but Accrington have been impressive at home in recent weeks, and we are backing a high-scoring draw at Wham Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Bolton vs. Sunderland (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Promotion-chasing Sunderland will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in League One when they make the trip to the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday to take on Bolton Wanderers.

The away side, who are second in the table, will enter the match off the back of a 1-0 victory over Portsmouth last weekend, while Bolton recorded a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town in their last match.

We say: Bolton Wanderers 1-2 Sunderland

Bolton will be feeling good about themselves after back-to-back wins, but they will now take on one of the best sides in the division in the shape of Sunderland. We are expecting this to be a close contest at the University of Bolton Stadium but fancy the Black Cats to emerge victorious at the end of the 90 minutes.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Cheltenham vs. Wigan (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wigan Athletic will be bidding to make it five League One victories in a row when they continue their promotion charge away to lowly Cheltenham Town on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors are currently top of the table, level on points with second-placed Sunderland, who have played four games more, while Cheltenham occupy 18th position in the third tier of English football.

We say: Cheltenham Town 0-2 Wigan Athletic

Wigan look a class outfit at this level of football, and it is really difficult to ignore their form when picking a result in this match. Cheltenham are capable of making it a difficult contest, but we are fully expecting the visitors to extend their winning run, with Keane continuing his strong form in front of goal.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Crewe vs. Rotherham (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Third from bottom will face third from top in League One on Saturday afternoon when Crewe Alexandra welcome Rotherham United to Gresty Road.

The two teams locked horns earlier this month in the third round of the EFL Trophy, with the Millers coming from behind to win 4-2 away from home.

We say: Crewe Alexandra 1-3 Rotherham United

Rotherham's away form will need to improve if they are to stay in contention for the League One title, while Crewe are desperate to pick up points both home and away as they aim to avoid the drop this season.

The hosts will fancy their chances of scoring this weekend, after finding the net in eight of their last 11 games at Gresty Road, but the Millers should do enough to claim all three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Doncaster vs. Plymouth (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Rock-bottom Doncaster Rovers host promotion chasing Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, as they seek to secure rare back-to-back wins.

Despite picking up just their fifth victory of the season last week, Rovers are still nine points from League One safety, while the visitors hope to reignite their playoff push having collected one point from their last three games.

We say: Doncaster Rovers 2-2 Plymouth Argyle

Though a gulf of 25 points separates the sides before kickoff, Donny's breakthrough win and Plymouth's propensity to concede goals means that the hosts can take at least one point from a closely-contested affair.

Eager to get back on track in League One before their FA Cup glamour tie with Chelsea, the visitors may over-commit and leave spaces for the hosts to exploit.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Fleetwood vs. Cambridge (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Cambridge United's Harvey Knibbs celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on January 18, 2022© Reuters

After their recent run of success came to an end in midweek, Cambridge United will aim to get back to winning ways on Saturday, as they travel to League One strugglers Fleetwood Town.

Despite losing their EFL Trophy quarter-final on penalties, the visitors will arrive at Highbury Stadium having won each of their five fixtures since starting the year with a draw, while their hosts are still fighting for survival.

We say: Fleetwood Town 2-1 Cambridge United

Fleetwood can close the gap between the clubs to just four points with a victory, and recent results suggest that they are capable of winning a fourth game from six Highbury Stadium outings since the start of December.

Though their dramatic cup exit will not derail their opponents, momentum could be stalled, and an impressive unbeaten run may come to an end on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Gillingham vs. Oxford Utd (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Continuing their promotion push with a trip to lowly Gillingham, playoff contenders Oxford United will seek to build on last week's success.

After beating Sheffield Wednesday to end a three-game winless run, the U's sit sixth in the League One table, while their hosts languish in the relegation zone having last tasted victory back in October.

We say: Gillingham 0-2 Oxford United

An away win is on the cards in this clash of two teams with very different ambitions for the rest of the campaign, as Oxford are well-placed to take advantage of their hosts' defensive frailties.

The pressure to produce is relentless at this stage of the season, given such a tightly-packed top half of the League One table, but the U's can make the most of their firepower to take a stranglehold of the game.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Lincoln vs. Burton Albion (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Separated by five points and as many places in the League One pecking order, 16th-placed Lincoln City host fellow mid-table side Burton Albion at Sincil Bank on Saturday.

Though the Imps won and Albion lost on their respective last league outings, it is the visitors who have the upper hand in the table after a positive start to the year.

We say: Lincoln City 1-1 Burton Albion

Neither side is particularly prolific, so given both teams' recent improvements a close-fought but low-scoring draw could be the result when they convene this weekend.

While Lincoln will be targeting maximum points against a fellow mid-table outfit, their mediocre home form and Burton's resilience will see the spoils shared.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Sheff Weds vs. Ipswich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Sheffield Wednesday manager Darren Moore pictured on March 6, 2021© Reuters

The battle for spots in the top six of the League One table will continue on Saturday, as Sheffield Wednesday welcome Ipswich Town to Hillsborough.

A victory over AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday saw the visitors leapfrog the Owls and move into eighth spot, with the sides separated by just a single point.

We say: Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Ipswich Town

With the two sides fairly evenly matched in terms of squad strength and points tallies, this could go either way, but, given their superior form, we just give the edge to the visitors.

A trip to Hillsborough is no easy task, but the Tractor Boys come in on a high following their upturn in fortunes and McKenna's men will back themselves to earn a third straight victory to climb closer to the playoff spots.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Wycombe vs. MK Dons (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wycombe Wanderers and MK Dons will do battle in a crucial meeting on Saturday, with the sides sat just three points and one place apart at the top end of the League One table.

A defeat last time out saw the hosts drop to fourth spot in England's third tier, while their visitors have climbed to fifth thanks to a strong run of form, most recently defeating Burton Albion on Tuesday.

We say: Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 MK Dons

With two strong sides and two differing styles clashing, we would not be surprised by any outcome on Saturday but see a draw as the most likely.

Both possess the tools to hurt one another, but as two of the league's tightest defences, they may cancel each other out at Adams Park.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
