Wagstaff dreaming of result to dye for against Millwall

The AFC Wimbledon midfielder coloured his beard blue and yellow following their FA Cup win over West Ham in the previous round.

AFC Wimbledon's Scott Wagstaff is hoping for another result to dye for against Millwall in the FA Cup.

Wagstaff on Thursday fulfilled a pre-match promise to colour his bushy beard in Wimbledon blue and yellow.

The 28-year-old midfielder made the pledge prior to the Dons' fourth-round clash with West Ham, vowing to dye his mane if they caused an upset.

Wagstaff scored twice as Wimbledon, bottom of League One, duly stunned the Premier League Hammers 4-2 at Kingsmeadow.

However Wagstaff was, perhaps wisely, making no promises with the Dons facing Championship Millwall on Saturday for a place in the quarter-finals.

"It looks a little bit better than I thought to be fair, they've done a good job but I don't think I'll be wanting to do it again, I'll keep my mouth shut in future," Wagstaff told Press Association Sport.

"But it was one of the best evenings I've had in my career, I'll take that with me for the rest of my life, and hopefully we'll do it again on Saturday.

"Hopefully if we beat Millwall we will get another good draw but we can't look past Millwall, they're a great side.

"It's going to be a difficult game for us and we'll have to play to the best we can. Hopefully they'll have an off day and we can go through.

"It's one of those where both teams will think they have a great chance. Millwall will be doing exactly the same as we are doing, there's a great carrot at the end of it.

"Will I shave it off we win? No, I can't do anymore. I'll just have to dye it back."
