Kevin-Prince Boateng racially abused during friendly match

Kevin-Prince Boateng storms off the pitch after being subjected to racial chanting during a friendly match.

AC Milan star Kevin-Prince Boateng stormed off the pitch in protest after being racially abused during a match with Pro Patia this afternoon.

The Rossoneri were staying in tune during the winter break by making the short trip to Busto Arsizio - around 15 miles from Milan - for a friendly with the fourth-tier minnows.

However, the game was stopped midway through the first half when Boateng reacted angrily to racial chanting directed at him and Milan's other black players.

The Ghanaian international picked up the ball and kicked it towards the section from where the chants were emanating, before taking off his shirt and marching off the pitch.

Boateng was quickly followed down the tunnel by his teammates, while the Pro Patia players approached their fans in an attempt to reason with them.

The 25-year-old later tweeted: "Shame that these things still happen... #StopRacismforever."

The attacking midfielder joined Milan from Portsmouth in 2010.
