Atalanta BC fans throw bananas at AC Milan players

AC Milan players are targeted by bananas thrown by Atalanta BC fans in their Serie A clash at the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia stadium on Sunday, won by the home side.

AC Milan players have had bananas thrown at them by Atalanta BC fans in their Serie A clash at the Atleti Azzurri d'Italia stadium on Sunday.

According to BBC Sport, Kevin Constant and Nigel de Jong picked up two bananas thrown onto the pitch, while Milan players seemed to sarcastically applaud the home fans, from where the offending items allegedly came.

After the incident, fans were warned that the game, won 2-1 by the home side, would be suspended if there was a repeat.

The incident is similar to that experienced by Barcelona's Brazil defender Dani Alves, who picked up and ate a banana thrown at him by a Villarreal fan two weeks ago.
