AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso could return to action in January, according to his agent.
The 33-year-old has not featured for the Rossoneri since the opening day of the season against Lazio.
He was substituted in the 20th minute following a collision with teammate Alessandro Nesta, complaining of blurred vision.
The former Glasgow Rangers player was diagnosed with sixth nerve palsy and initial fears suggested that he could miss the remainder of the season.
However, agent Andrea D'Amico has told Goal.com that his client may be ready to play next month.
"I understand that he is much better than he was just recently and that his recovery is progressing well, so you will soon see him on the field," said D'Amico.
"The Milan medical staff believe that January could be the month of his return."
Gattuso joined Milan in 1999 from Salernitana.
