Australia has failed to have a player in the second round at Wimbledon on the men's side of the draw for the first time in 74 years.
Following Lleyton Hewitt's exit to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga earlier this afternoon there were no Aussies left in the draw.
Despite Hewitt expecting to go out to fifth-seed Tsonga, young Down Under man Bernard Tomic was expected to progress.
However, the 19-year-old, seeded 20 at this year's Championships, was ousted in four sets by Daniel Goffin earlier today.
The only other times there has not been an Australian man in the second round at Grand Slams were at the 1985 US Open and last year's French Open.
