Robin McBryde: 'Wales face tough Australia battle'

Wales coach Robin McBryde insists that off-field issues will not weaken Australia in any way during the upcoming Autumn Internationals.

Robin McBryde has warned Wales to expect another "hard-fought contest" against Australia when the two sides meet next month.

The Wallabies head into the Autumn Internationals opener at the Millennium Stadium looking to return attention back to on-field matters following a month of toil which led to Ewen McKenzie quitting as boss.

Despite this, McBryde says that he knows exactly what Wales will come up against, as Australia look to extend their nine-match winning streak against Warren Gatland's men.

"We know it's going to be a big test," the forwards coach told the Western Telegraph. "Australia have been backed into a corner and that's only going to bring them closer together.

"They have performed pretty well to date [in the Rugby Championship] and every encounter against Australia is a tough, hard-fought contest. We are going to have to improve on what we can deliver in the first 20 to 30 minutes and make sure we last the full 80.

"We are going to work the players hard to get them up to speed so that we can match the intensity that is going to come in the first exchanges against Australia."

Wales lost their last game 31-30 against South Africa.
