Steve Hansen: 'New Zealand have a lot of work to do'

New Zealand coach Steve Hansen claims that his team has "a lot of work to do" following their victory over England.

New Zealand coach Steve Hansen has claimed that his team has "a lot of work to do" following their 20-15 win over England in Auckland.

The All Blacks were given a tough time by the under-strength tourists on Saturday before Conrad Smith's late try saw them take a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series.

"It was one of those games where we had to take the match by the scruff of the neck," Hansen is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We needed to break the deadlock somehow.

"It was a dour game and there were a lot of errors from both sides, probably down to rustiness. We have a lot of work to do between now and next weekend."

The teams return to action for the second Test next Saturday in Dunedin.
