Report: West Ham United weighing up move for Montpellier striker Gaetan Laborde

Montpellier striker Gaetan Laborde is a rumoured £16m target for West Ham United in the January transfer window.

West Ham United have turned focus to Montpellier's Gaetan Laborde in their search for a new striker, according to a report.

The Hammers are seeking a replacement for Sebastian Haller, who was sold to Ajax for around £20m earlier this month.

A number of possible options have emerged, such as Sevilla's Youssef En-Nesyri, but The Telegraph claims that Laborde is the player currently being considered by the side.

Laborde has scored six goals in 20 Ligue 1 matches this term and is said to be available for around £16m, putting him well in West Ham's price range.

Should the Premier League side miss out on the 26-year-old, it is suggested that they may instead look at Boulaye Dia at Reims or Blackburn Rovers attacker Adam Armstrong.
