Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane reportedly has an outside chance of facing admirers Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League season.

Tottenham Hotspur captain Harry Kane has an outside chance of being ready for this weekend's clash with Manchester City, according to a report.

Pep Guardiola's side are known to be interested in the England skipper and are supposedly 'convinced' that they can get a £150m deal over the line this month.

In the meantime, Kane has returned to Tottenham's accommodation base to undergo a five-day quarantine following his holiday, and he was forced to deny reports claiming that he refused to turn up for pre-season training.

According to The Athletic, Kane is due to return to team training on Thursday after completing his self-isolation period, meaning that there is a small possibility he could line up against the Premier League champions.

However, the report adds that 'time is running out' for Kane to prove his fitness in time, and a spot on the bench is the most likely option if he is deemed ready for some minutes.

Kane took a holiday to the Bahamas after scoring four goals for England at Euro 2020, while he registered 37 goal contributions from 35 Premier League games last term.
