Good afternoon! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas, and Sports Mole has some late gifts for you today as we bring you a full fixture list of Premier League matches. I will be taking you through Tottenham Hotspur's match against West Brom, with both sides suffering from managerial instability of late.

We'll start by looking at our hosts tonight, who have decided upon Tim Sherwood as their full-time manager until at least the end of next season. The former Spurs player won one and lost one of his games in charge as interim boss, so it will be interesting to see how he fares now that he has been handed the reins on a permanent basis.

Sherwood's main priority is to get Spurs back in the hunt for a Champions League spot, and his side certainly aren't too far off. They are currently seventh in the Premier League, but the top half of the table is so congested that they are just four points of fourth-placed Chelsea and six off leaders Liverpool. That is by no means an insurmountable gap.

It is worth noting that Andre Villas-Boas's time in charge of the club was nowhere near as bad as some people have made out since his departure. The Portuguese manager led Spurs to their highest-ever points tally in the Premier League last season, and this year they are actually one point better off than at the same stage of that campaign. Considering he lost Gareth Bale in the summer and was forced to integrate a number of new recruits into the team, with varying degrees of success, that is not bad going for Villas-Boas.

However, it was as much the style of play as his results that saw him leave the club. Only Stoke have scored fewer than Tottenham's 18 in the top half of the table, a tally that was even worse before their 3-2 win over Southampton last weekend. Sherwood has brought with him more of an attacking philosophy, immediately switching to two up front and recalling Emmanuel Adebayor, who has scored three goals in two games since his return from the wilderness.

Things also need sorting at the other end of the pitch. No side in the top 13 of the table has conceded more than Spurs' 23, while only five teams in the entire league have. They are without a clean sheet in their last seven Premier League matches having recorded seven in their first 10.

Their home form is also a major issue that needs addressing by Sherwood. While they have the best away record in the Premier League this season, their form in front of their own fans is the worst in the top half. They have only won three Premier League games at White Hart Lane - and just one of their last six - and scored just seven goals in their eight matches. In all competitions, they have won just one of their last five at home.

However, overall, Tottenham's form coming into this game is not too bad. They have won five of their last eight matches in all competitions, which isn't exactly crisis form. However, the two defeats in that time have been costly ones, with Liverpool thrashing Spurs here 5-0 before West Ham launched a late comeback to knock them out of the League Cup.

While Spurs' form is far from cause for major concern, West Brom's is. The Baggies have slipped slightly under the radar with their poor results of late, but they are now seven matches without a win and have only been victorious in one of their last 11, including a run of four consecutive defeats. This run was sparked by Chelsea's controversial late penalty that earned them a draw at Stamford Bridge, which is something that West Brom don't seem to have recovered from.

The club, as a whole, is not in a good place right now. Just seven months after Steve Clarke guided them to their best ever Premier League finish of eighth, he was sacked and the Baggies are still looking for a replacement. Keith Downing is in charge for today's game, but he has already ruled himself out of the running for the job on the full-time basis. They will need to get someone in soon, if only to bring a bit of stability to a club in turmoil at the moment.

All of those issues have conspired to leave them precariously perched just two places and three points above the relegation zone. It says something about the improvement of the side over recent years that to see them so low is a surprise - particularly given their reputation for being the yo-yo club not so long ago - but there is no room to rest on your laurels in the Premier League, and the simple fact is that they need to start pick up results quickly.

Their problem is certainly not with scoring goals. Only Swansea have found the net more times than West Brom's 18 in the bottom half of the table, which shows that they have more firepower than the majority of the teams around them. They have also only conceded 23 goals, which is a tally only two teams in the bottom half can better - so just why are West Brom struggling so much?

Well, they simply haven't found enough ways to win games. Their goal difference is identical to that of Tottenham, yet nine places separate them in the league. West Brom have drawn too many games, sharing the spoils seven times already this season (a joint league high with Everton). Only Swansea have lost fewer games in the bottom half, so those draws have really hurt the Baggies this season.

Their away form is a major concern having won just once on their travels this season, although that victory was a memorable one over Manchester United at Old Trafford. They have picked up just one point from the last 15 available and three from the last 21. I still think that the Baggies will be fine this season, but there is no getting away from the fact that that is relegation form.

While Spurs still sacked their manager despite being one point better off than at this point last season, the Baggies perhaps had more justification for sacking Steve Clarke when you consider that they are 11 points worse off than on the last Boxing Day. Having said that, the Baggies made a blistering start to the last campaign and it would have been unrealistic to expect them to repeat that this season.

TEAM NEWS: Right, the team news is in for both sides and, as expected, Sherwood as continued with two strikers up front as Adebayor and Soldado once again lead the line. West Brom, meanwhile, hand a start to Vydra, who will play up front alone this afternoon. Full team news for both side on the way.

So, what can we make of those two teams? Well, Sherwood has made two changes to the side that beat Southampton, with Chadli and Holtby coming in for Dembele and Lamela. With the busy festive fixture list it is no surprises to see some changes being made, and this is certainly a good opportunity to use the wealth of talent he has in midfield.

The Spurs defence will have a point to prove today having not kept a clean sheet in so long. They have one of the best keepers in the league in Lloris, but he was often left helpless by the high defensive line employed by Villas-Boas. The likes of Chiriches, Walker and Rose are all good on the ball, but their positional sense in defence isn't the best, so the Baggies will look to capitalise on that today.

Midfield is where Tottenham's strength really should lie today. They have plenty of talent out there, and Eriksen in particular will be a danger today. It hasn't really happened for him at Spurs so far, but he has shown enough glimpses of his talent to let us know that he is a highly skilled player. Chadli, Holtby and Sigurdsson are all more solid players and you know exactly what you will get from them. They will look to dominate the middle of the park today.

Up front, it is no surprise to see Adebayor partnering Soldado once again. Adebayor is certainly not the most consistent of players, but he does always seem to have a really good spell of form at least once a season. He looks to be going through that now, and Sherwood will be hoping to make the most of it while it lasts. Soldado, meanwhile, has lost his scoring touch somewhat and is yet to really show why Spurs paid so much money for him so far. He has a point to prove today.

As for West Brom, they have named an interesting lineup, with plenty of players who can slip into defence but only one or two who can really be counted as attacking players. That hints at a defensive mindset from Downing for this match, which is perhaps understandable given his side's poor form and away record this season.

Yacob could be a really important player for the visitors today as he looks to close down the threat of Eriksen. He has been a bright spark in an otherwise disappointing season for West Brom, and if he plays as well as he can do today then the Baggies have a chance of coming away from this match with something. Amalfitano has also impressed at times this season, and he also has an eye for goal that Spurs will need to be wary of.

Up front on his own is Vydra, and he is likely to be a lonely figure for much of the game. I am surprised to see Berahino left on the bench as the young striker has been arguably West Brom's best player so far this season, but at the very least he could be a dangerous weapon to introduce off the bench against a tiring defence.

PREDICTION: Right, we're 10 minutes from kickoff at White Hart Lane, which means that it is time for my match prediction! Spurs will be given a boost by Sherwood's appointment as full-time manager, and that should even improve their home form, which has been poor this season. The Baggies, meanwhile, look like being a couple of games from turning a corner - at least until they get a new manager of their own - so I can't really see them winning this one. I'll go for a 2-0 home win, and a rare clean sheet for Spurs.

One thing that may give Spurs a bit more optimism going into this game is that they have not lost on Boxing Day since 2003 - eight games ago. Since that defeat, which came with David Pleat temporarily at the helm, they have won six and drawn two of their matches on this day. West Brom, meanwhile, will be playing in their eighth Premier League Boxing Day match and, incredibly, Downing will be the seventh different manager to take charge of the club on this day.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last seven matches against West Brom, winning four and drawing three, while they having lost to them at White Hart Lane since 1984, when Cross, MacKenzie and Statham scored in a 3-2 win for the Baggies. West Brom have only won two of their 14 Premier League meetings, the last of which came in 2008.

The last time these two met was back in February at the Hawthorns, where Gareth Bale scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win for Tottenham. The last meeting at White Hart Lane was back in August of last year, as Assou-Ekotto put Spurs into the lead before Morrison netted a late equaliser top rescue a point for the Baggies.

Sherwood and Ferdinand are all smiles ahead of kickoff. Will they be the same at the end of the match? We're about to find out as we're moments from kickoff here.

KICKOFF: Anthony Taylor gets the game underway and Tottenham kick us off at White Hart Lane. Both sides need a win, but for very different reasons.

Spurs have quickly settled into this match and are knocking the ball about comfortably in these early stages. They haven't won a home game in the Premier League since October, so this really is a big game for them today.

Great defending from Olsson as he clears an Eriksen corner under heavy pressure from Adebayor. It looked like the Tottenham man was favourite to get there first, but Olsson did really well to nod it away.

Amalfitano almost has a chance on the edge of the box as the ball falls to him, but he takes too long to shoot and he is tackled before he can get the effort away. Spurs move up the other end and Adebayor lays the ball off to Holtby on the edge of the box, but his shot is blocked by Chris Dawson and loops into the arms of Foster.

Spurs are just being forced into a bit of defending here as West Brom begin to ease themselves into the match. It has been a pretty even opening eight minutes in North London.

Gera slips the ball behind the defence and Vydra is onto it in a flash. Dawson had stepped up at the perfect time, however, and the linesman's flag right goes up. With Vydra's pace and Tottenham's high line, that could be a promising move for the visitors, though.

At the other end, the linesman's flag again denies a glorious chance. Chadli's mis-hit shot found its way to Soldado, who poked it square to Adebayor. The in-form striker is about to tap it in for an easy finish, but Soldado has correctly been penalised for offside.

SHOT! The ball drops to Sigurdsson on the edge of the box after a Spurs corner was only half-cleared by West Brom. The Spurs midfielder takes a touch before volleying it towards the top corner, but it flies a couple of yards wide.

CHANCE! Best chance of the match so far falls the way of West Brom as Gera and Vydra play a lovely one-two to send the latter through on goal. Dawson comes back with a very important tackle, but Lloris still needs to make a smart save to his left to prevent the ball squirming in.

From the resulting corner, Adebayor's header goes more up than out and a number of West Brom players attack the high second ball in the area. It is Lugano who gets the final touch, but he was probably put off by his teammates and nodded his effort over the bar.

UPDATE: The first 3pm Boxing Day goals have gone in in the Premier League, with Southampton and Norwich both taking the lead in their respective matches. Jay Rodriguez has put the Saints in front against Cardiff, while Gary Hoopers has made it 1-0 to the Canaries against Fulham.

Walker swings a lovely ball towards the back post and Chris Dawson is forced into a clever piece of defending as he chests it behind with Adebayor lurking with intent.

CHANCE! Vydra bursts away from the defence again and this time he is offside. He only has Lloris to beat, but the Spurs keeper is so fast off his line and quickly smothers the ball as Vydra thought that he had more time. That was really good goalkeeping from the Frenchman.

UPDATE: Southampton have doubled their lead against Cardiff, and it is another goal for Jay Rodriguez. It looks like they may be ending their poor run of form this afternoon.

Chris Dawson gets a talking to from Anthony Taylor after a late and heavy challenge from behind on Soldado. I can only assume that the ref is high on Christmas spirit at the moment because that was a yellow card all day long.

Eriksen fizzes a cross into the box and it finds Adebayor, but the striker just can't bring it under control with his chest. Eriksen's deliveries have been very good so far today, but that one was a very hard one to control.

Rose bursts down the left before playing a low ball in to Adebayor inside the box. The striker's first touch isn't great and he should leave it for Holtby, but in the end the two of them get in the way of each other and the shot is blocked.

Eriksen absolutely hammers the ball towards goal from long range, but Olsson stands his ground and takes it straight into the chops. He goes down, unsurprisingly given the power of the shot, and the ref correctly stops play immediately so that he can receive treatment. It would have been a painful one, but he'll be fine to continue.

UPDATE: Jay Rodriguez has completed a hat-trick within half an hour in South Wales as Southampton now lead Cardiff 3-0. Elsewhere, Sunderland have taken the lead through a Ki penalty after Everton's Tim Howard was sent off in that game, while Stoke are 1-0 up against Newcastle through Oussama Assaidi. Chelsea have also just broken the deadlock against Swansea thanks to an Eden Hazard strike.

CHANCE! Huge chance for the visitors as Vydra tries to direct a wonderful cross into the back of the net from close range. All he has to do is get sufficient contact on the ball and it would be 1-0, but he can't get enough on it and Lugano is inches too short to convert it at the back post too. What a chance.

YELLOW CARD! Reid was book in the immediate aftermath of that chance for a block on a Tottenham man. He becomes the first man to go into Taylor's notebook today.

Nice football from Tottenham as they pass their way up the pitch until Sigurdsson cuts inside. He gives the ball to Adebayor, who manages to squeeze the return pass back to his midfielder. However, it was all too intricate in too tight a space and Sigurdsson couldn't control the ball and West Brom were able to clear.

That looks like a nasty one for Walker as he slid in on Morrison having taken a heavy touch. Morrison went to clear the ball with a full swing but missed it and connected with Walker instead. The West Brom players disagree with the decision to give a free kick, but Taylor stands his ground and now Spurs have one in a very good position.

Eriksen gets his first goal in the Premier League, and it is an absolute beauty. He curls his free kick with pace and accuracy over the wall and into the net via the underside of the crossbar, leaving Foster with no chance. That is how you take a free kick, you'll be hard pressed to see a better one this season.

West Brom respond immediately! It is terrible defending from Spurs as a relatively poor free kick into the box by Amalfitano is missed by Adebayor and finds its way to Olsson, who is completely unmarked. He takes a touch control before poking it over Lloris with a neat little finish. Incredible stuff from the visitors, what a response!

This game deserved goals as it has been high-octane stuff with plenty of action. Two goals in as many minutes is as good as we could have hoped for, but they were two goals of contrasting quality. The first was pure class from Eriksen, while the second was a result of some seriously sloppy defending.

Gera feeds Morrison down the right channel and he pulls off a lovely Cruyff turn to beat Dawson and play it back across the area. Gera is steaming in for the return ball, but he is just a foot away from connecting with what would have been a fairly simple finish. The Baggies have looked dangerous at times today.

SAVE! Eriksen tries for another stunner as he curls it towards goal from 20 yard after good work from Rose. It is a fairly comfortable save for Foster, but he still punches it back out into a dangerous area and is lucky that it doesn't fall to a white shirt.

UPDATE: Glenn Whelan and Wilson have both been sent off in the space of three minutes for Stoke to leave them with nine men. Newcastle didn't take long to take advantage and equalised through Loic Remy, who has also missed a penalty. Fulham are also level with Norwich courtesy of a Kasami strike.

There will be two minutes of added time at the end of this first half.

CHANCE! West Brom have a chance right at the end of the half as Chiriches gives the ball away and Morrison races through on goal. He has plenty of time to line his shot up, but drags his effort a few yards wide of the far post when he should have at least hit the target. That was a real chance.

Well, what an entertaining half of Boxing Day football that was. Spurs and West Brom have played out a really open and attacking 45 minutes of football so far, and the 1-1 scoreline at the break is probably a fair representation of how things have gone. Both sides have had chances other than there goals, and I would be surprised if there weren't more goals in the second half.

The opening goal was a special one as Eriksen opened his Premier League account in style. He curled a brilliant free kick in off the underside of the bar, leaving Foster with no chance in the West Brom goal. That lead lasted less than two minutes, however, as Jonas Olsson poked the Baggies level shortly afterwards. It was a late Christmas gift from the Spurs defence, who went AWOL from a free kick.

Aside from the goals, the best chances have fallen to the visitors. Vydra has found himself one-on-one with Lloris on a couple of occasions, but the French keeper has come out on top in that personal battle so far. Morrison also had a good sight of goal right at the end of the half which he probably should have scored.

This game is still very much up for grabs, and after that first half I wouldn't like to call which way it is going to go. Either side could go on to win this, which goes to show that Sherwood hasn't yet come up with an immediate fix for Tottenham's home struggles this season.

West Brom certainly don't look like a team that has only picked up one point from the last 15 available. They have played with confidence and attacking intent and could be ahead at the break had they converted one of their three good chances. If they lose this one, they will at least take solace from the fact that they have played well.

Spurs have had more of the ball so far, but West Brom have arguably used it better. The hosts have been in control of general play for most of the match yet they haven't tested Foster too often, with their attacks usually dying when it comes to the final ball. That will be something they need to improve in the second half.

KICKOFF: West Brom get the second half underway in North London - can they complete the comeback to win for the first time in eight matches? Hopefully the next 45 minutes will be as good as the first.

UPDATE: There is some good news for Tottenham as North London rivals Arsenal have just gone behind at the start of the second half against West Ham. Carlton Cole got the goal at Upton Park to give the Hammers a 1-0 lead.

Good defending from Olsson as West Brom lose the ball in a dangerous area. It break to Soldado down the right channel, but his low cross is intercepted by Olsson and the danger is temporarily cleared.

CLOSE! What an effort that is by Danny Rose. The West Brom defence invite him to shoot from range by not closing him down, and he duly obliges. He absolutely hammers it towards the top corner and it swerves and dips just over the bar with Foster beaten. That was a superb strike.

Eriksen delivers two consecutive corners in towards the front post. The first is bundled behind by Gera as Dawson threw himself towards the ball, while the second was nodded on by Chadli and bundled behind for another corner. The third also causes problems, and Foster punches it up rather than out before West Brom eventually get it clear.

Chiriches needlessly dives in to give away a free kick in an almost identical position to where Eriksen scored from earlier. Can West Brom come up with a similarly special strike?

SAVE! Reid is the man who goes for it, and it is a decent effort that draws a save from Lloris. He probably put too much curl on that in the end and you'd expect Lloris to make such saves all day long.

Amalfitano drills the ball into the box and it comes off a West Brom man and almost catches Lloris out, but in the end he gets down to make the save. That could have been a chance if West Brom had reacted a bit quicker.

YELLOW CARD! Kyle Walker goes into the book for a cynical foul. That was quite a harsh yellow, but you see them given so often for those types of challenges so it is no surprise.

UPDATE: Newcastle have completed their comeback against nine-man Stoke, who have also had Mark Hughes sent from the touchlines. Yoann Gouffran and Loic Remy have scored to make it 3-1 to the Magpies.

Important challenge from Dawson as Vydra gets the wrong side of Chiriches before playing the ball in towards Morrison. If the West Brom man was a little braver there he probably could have beaten Dawson to the ball, but the Spurs defender wanted it more and got the tackle in.

CLOSE! Adebayor nods a cross out to the edge of the box for Holtby to run on to. He turns down the shot on his right foot, instead shifting it to his left before dragging an effort a yard or two past the far post.

TOTTENHAM SUB: That is Holtby's last action of the match as he is replaced by Nabil Bentaleb in midfield. This is his home debut for Spurs, so plenty of faith being shown in the youngster by Sherwood, who of course worked with him in his old role at the club.

A potential flashpoint for Taylor to deal with as Amalfitano drags Walker off the ball by his shoulder. It draws a big reaction from the crowd, but the ref deals with it well by just talking to the West Brom loanee.

Spurs pour forward in numbers but Adebayor turns down the pass, instead making his way across the field looking for space to shoot. He never finds it, however, as the West Brom defence swarms around him to clear the danger.

YELLOW CARD! Reid flies into a challenge on Rose and the fans want a straight red. Even a yellow would see him sent off, but incredibly the ref lets him off. That should have been a yellow at the very least. Instead, the only card is brandished to Olsson for dissent.

SAVE! The ball is played square across to Walker, who takes a touch before hammering it goalwards from at least 30 yards out. It is a fine strike from the full-back, but Foster would be disappointed if he was beaten from there and he makes a flying save.

I'm still surprised that West Brom have 11 men on the field. Reid should be gone for that tackle, it's as simple as that. It was a really bad tackle and there won't have been too many complaints if a straight red was brandished. To not give any card at all, however, seems very strange indeed.

WEST BROM SUB: The Baggies make their first change of the match as Mulumbu comes on to replace Amalfitano.

UPDATE: Theo Walcott has scored two goals in the space of three minutes to give Arsenal a huge 2-1 lead against West Ham. Newcastle, meanwhile, are now 4-1 up against Stoke courtesy of Yohan Cabaye.

CHANCE! Chadli gets a fortunate bounce in the area to put him one-on-one with the keeper. He is at a tight angle and just needs to pull it back for Adebayor, but he puts too much on the pass and West Brom scramble it clear.

TOTTENHAM SUB: Tottenham's record signing Lamela comes on in place of Chadli, whose last action was that misplaced pass.

Rose swings the ball into the middle and Soldado meets it, but he can't steer his header on target. He has not had a sniff today, Soldado.

WEST BROM SUB: Gera's afternoon is over as he makes way to be replaced by Stephane Sessegnon.

Lamela swings a dangerous ball in towards the back post where Sigurdsson is waiting, but he has a very tight angle to contend with and can only plant his header into the side netting.

UPDATE: Lukas Podolski has made it 3-1 to Arsenal and it looks like they will move to the top of the table for a few hours at the very least. They will end the day at the top unless Liverpool can beat Man City at the Etihad.

Rose delivers a good low ball into the box that arrives just behind Soldado. The Spaniard tries a spinning back-hell but doesn't make good enough contact with it and the chance goes begging.

UPDATE: It is turning into a bit of a rout at St James' Park. Newcastle now lead nine-man Stoke 5-1 courtesy of a Papiss Cisse penalty.

CLOSE! Soldado does brilliantly at the near post to fashion a fine effort. The corner didn't look too dangerous until the Spanish striker met it at the front post and flicked a looping backwards header towards the far post, but it dropped just wide.

WEST BROM SUB: The visitors' final change of the day sees Vydra replaced by Berahino. The youngster will look to put the tiring defence under pressure in these closing stages here.

Time is starting to run out for Spurs to grab the win here, and Sherwood is looking increasingly nervous on the sideline. What will the final five minutes hold?

YELLOW CARD! Soldado dives in on Olsson with a challenge brimming with frustration. It came just after a penalty claim was rightly turned down, and he deserves to go into the book for that tackle.

UPDATE: Scott Parker has given Fulham what looks like being a very important late winner against Norwich. The Cottagers have come form a goal down in that one to lead 2-1, and now look set for just their second win in 11 games.

There will be four minutes of added time at the end of this match. The fourth official shows that number on the board just as Lamela throws himself to the floor with a clear dive. He should have been booked for that.

We have just two minutes of added time left in this match, and it is Tottenham who are pushing for the winner. This would be a much better point for West Brom than it would be for Spurs, despite it extending the Baggies' winless record to eight.

UPDATE: Crystal Palace have just scored a huge goal against Aston Villa in the dying stages of their match. Gayle got the goal which looks like giving the Eagles all three points and lifting them out of the relegation zone.

Well, that was a highly entertaining match between two sides who played some very good football, and it ends in a 1-1 draw, Eriksen and Olsson getting the goals.
