Preview: Besiktas vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole casts its eye forward to the winner-takes-all Group C Europa League showdown between Besiktas and Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur will tie up top spot in the Europa League's Group C if they avoid defeat against Besiktas in Turkey on Thursday night.

It is a big game for the two teams, who have both already qualified and will battle to avoid the bigger seeds in the last 32.

Spurs go into the game two points clear at the top, but if Besiktas can get the better of them at home they will steal first place from the North Londoners.

Mauricio Pochettino has plenty of niggling injuries to deal with and may shake up his starting lineup from Saturday's goalless draw with Crystal Palace.

Harry Kane should lead the line as only Red Bull Salzburg's Alan has more goals than the young forward in this year's group stage so far.

If Besiktas are to snatch top spot, they will have to end Spurs' 18-game unbeaten run in the Europa League group stage.

Spurs would have already sewn up the group if they hadn't conceded a last-gasp penalty that Demba Ba stuck away in the reverse fixture on matchday two.

Former Newcastle United and Chelsea striker Ba, who has been involved in six of Besiktas's 10 goals in the group so far, is struggling with a toe injury and may have to miss out.

Atiba Hutchinson is definitely not able to play for the hosts after his red card in the 2-2 draw at Asteras Tripolis on matchday five.

Besiktas:

Sports Mole says: 1-1
