Spain midfielder Xavi Hernandez has confirmed his retirement from international football.
The 34-year-old won the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships during his career with the national team.
"I have decided to retire from international football," he told reporters. "I'm grateful for all those years. It has been a fantastic time."
Xavi made his debut for Spain back in 2000 before going on to score 13 goals in 133 games for La Roja.
His final appearance for Spain came during their embarrassing 5-1 defeat to the Netherlands at the World Cup.
