First-half goals from Liam Feeney and Darren Pratley gave Bolton Wanderers a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
Feeney's goal after just two minutes got Bolton off to the perfect start, before Tom Lees and Christopher Maguire spurned good chances for the hosts.
Wanderers doubled their lead when Pratley smartly controlled the ball in the Wednesday box and unleashed a powerful shot beyond Kieren Westwood.
Maguire reduced the deficit when he picked himself up and fired home from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark, and the home side were nearly level just after the restart when Atdhe Nuhiu nearly got his toe to Maguire's teasing cross.
Craig Davies saw his effort beaten away by Westwood on 53 minutes, before Stevie May's effort was blocked five minutes later, but despite late Wednesday pressure Bolton held on to record their first win in three games.
The result leaves Wednesday in ninth, while Bolton climb to 14th.
