Rangers have yet to break the deadlock at Ibrox, with Arbroath heading into the half-time interval level at 0-0.
Despite some early pressure from the home side, Arbroath were able to keep Ally McCoist's side at bay and created a couple of opportunities of their own.
Rangers striker Jon Daly went down under pressure in the box just after the half-hour mark, but despite protests no penalty was given.
However, neither side has really threatened to find the net, with McCoist expected to make changes after the break in order to find a way past the backline of the visitors.
