The news was confirmed by R's boss Harry Redknapp following the club's 1-0 win over Sunderland this afternoon.
"Lassana [Diarra] has signed and I'm delighted to have him. I had him at Portsmouth and he is a terrific player," Redknapp told reporters after the match.
Diarra, 29, recently departed Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow and has also previously played for Arsenal and Chelsea.
