Paris Saint-Germain defender Christophe Jallet has hailed his teammate David Beckham as an "extraordinary" player.
The 38-year-old English midfielder announced on Thursday that he will retire from professional football at the end of the season.
"He is extraordinary both as a man and as a player," Ligue1.com quotes Jallet as saying. "He keeps it simple. His incredible appetite for work and his perfectionism are very impressive.
"He's like a youngster who has just broken into the first team - the first to arrive at training and one of the last to leave.
"He's an example for us all; that's how you do it. He's leaving football having just clinched another title, and that's great."
Beckham will play his final home game of his career tonight when PSG host Brest in Ligue 1.
