Perth Glory down Western Sydney Wanderers to return to A-League summit

Perth Glory go top of the A-League by inflicting a fourth straight league defeat on Asian champions Western Sydney Wanderers.

Perth Glory climbed to the top of the A-League thanks to goals either side of half time from Dino Djulbic and Scott Jamieson against the Western Sydney Wanderers this evening.

The hosts took the lead at nib Stadium inside the opening 10 minutes when Djulbic rose highest at the back post to head home a corner.

Nebojsa Marinkovic almost doubled Glory's lead just before the half-hour mark when his shot took a deflection and came back off the foot of the post.

Mark Bridge almost levelled for Wanderers with a volley that flew just wide in the 59th minute.

Perth went two in front 12 minutes from time when Jamison curled a free kick over the wall and into the bottom corner.

The Wanderers netted a late consolation through Joshua Sotirio, but it was too little too late as the visitors, who earlier this month won the Asian Champions League, slumped to their fourth consecutive league defeat.

Perth return to the summit with 15 points out of a possible 18, while Western Sydney are winless and remain bottom.
