Rafael Benitez plans Italy, Armenia trip

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez reveals plans to sit with supporters at the San Paolo Stadium for tomorrow night's World Cup qualifier between Italy and Armenia.

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that he plans to watch Italy's World Cup qualifier with Armenia tomorrow night, so that he can experience the San Paolo Stadium's famous atmosphere as a spectator.

Benitez has enjoyed a fine start to life in Naples, winning six of his first seven Serie A matches to sit second in the table.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea coach declared that Napoli's "unconditional support" has proved a refreshing change, providing his players with motivation to perform.

On his official personal website Benitez said: "I plan to attend the Italy game. When I go there, it will be for the first time as a spectator.

"I will share the experience in the stands with the fans. I hope to enjoy the game and also the great atmosphere that is always offered at San Paolo.

"Our fans have already shown this season what it means to be close to a team. There absolutely unconditional support gives a lift to the players. I wish Lorenzo Insigne good luck, and as always, Forza Napoli."

Napoli return to domestic action with a top-of-the-table clash on Friday night, when they visit 100% starters Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
