Napoli hammer sorry Cesena

Napoli score two goals either side of half time to earn a 4-1 victory away to Cesena in Serie A.

Napoli have made it two consecutive wins in Serie A with a comfortable 4-1 win at lowly Cesena.

The hosts had two good chances to go in front during the early stages, but Franco Brienza and Hugo Almeida both had their headers kept out by Rafael Cabral.

Cesena were made to pay for those wasted opportunities on 29 minutes when Jose Callejon drilled a composed finish into the bottom corner to put Napoli ahead.

The away side doubled their advantage with four minutes left in the first half as Gonzalo Higuain rounded the goalkeeper before slotting in to the empty net for his 12th goal of the season.

Napoli turned the screw just after the hour when Daniele Capelli diverted Marek Hamsik's shot into his own net to make it 3-0 before Higuain calmly found the net to put Rafael Benitez's team in total control with 18 minutes left.

Cesena pulled a goal back late on through Brienza, but it was not enough to stop the strugglers losing for the fourth time in six games.
