Manchester City prepare a January approach for Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe, according to a report.

Manchester City are reportedly lining up a January move for Kylian Mbappe, as the Citizens look to beat Real Madrid to the Paris Saint-Germain attacker's signature in 2022.

Real Madrid attempted to sign the France international in the latter stages of the summer transfer window but could not convince PSG to sell, despite the fact that the World Cup winner's deal is due to expire next June.

Los Blancos are still thought to be the favourites for the 22-year-old, but according to journalists Ian McGarry and Duncan Castles, speaking on The Transfer Window podcast, Man City owner Sheikh Mansour wants to sign the attacker 'at any cost'.

The Citizens are said to be lining up a January approach for the Frenchman in the hope of convincing PSG to part with him before the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

Mbappe, who would be free to enter into contract discussions with Man City in January if he does not sign a new deal in Paris, has scored four times and registered four assists in eight outings at club level this term.

Manchester United and Liverpool have also previously been linked with the former Monaco youngster, who has netted 136 goals in 179 appearances for his current side in all competitions.
