Arjen Robben: 'Patrice Evra goal was a wake-up call'

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben says that Patrice Evra's goal was a "wake-up call" during the team's Champions League quarter-final win over Manchester United.

Arjen Robben has said that Patrice Evra's goal was a "wake-up call" for Bayern Munich during their Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester United this evening.

Following their 1-1 draw in the first leg, Evra put the English side ahead in the second half, but the Bundesliga side scored three goals in quick succession to secure their place in the last four.

The winger, who scored the final goal for the hosts, told Sky Sports News: "They scored the first goal so it was a tricky tie but in the end 3-1 was a very good result. It was important to score straight after they made it 1-0.

"It was a wake-up call because the first 10 minutes in the second half were a disaster, we were slow and were not there. You can't do that in the Champions League. After that we scored three goals. We wanted to attack and they were playing on the counter so you have to be careful."

The defending champions will learn who their semi-final opponent will be when the draw takes place on Friday.
