Henrikh Mkhitaryan: 'I will play anywhere for the team'

Manchester United attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan says that he will 'play anywhere' for his new team after making his debut against Wigan Athletic.

Manchester United attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan has insisted that he will 'play anywhere' for the team after making his debut for the Red Devils on Saturday afternoon.

The Armenian international, who joined Man United from Borussia Dortmund this summer, was part of the side that recorded a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.

The 27-year-old played the first 45 minutes in the number 10 position and despite mainly operating wide for Dortmund last season, he is happy to play whatever role Jose Mourinho decides is best.

"It was a good game, the first half was difficult because we couldn't score but we made a good game and thank you to my teammates for today," he told MUTV. "I was trying to be comfortable, so I think day by day it will be better. It doesn't matter where [I play], the most important thing is to play and help the team win the games and that is the main thing for me."

Man United are next in action against Mkhitaryan's former club Dortmund on July 22 in Shanghai.
