Pep Guardiola refuses to be drawn on speculation linking Manchester City with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland.

Pep Guardiola refused to be drawn on speculation linking Manchester City with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland.

Recent reports in the media have claimed that the Citizens are ready to activate the 21-year-old's £63m release clause and that they have agreed to pay the striker in excess of £500,000 per week on a five-year contract.

However, speaking at a press conference ahead of City's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday, Guardiola was unwilling to comment on any transfer rumours.

"No answer to your question. I have another concern in my head to think what will happen in this club next season," the Spaniard told reporters on Tuesday.

When asked whether City need to recruit a striker this summer, Guardiola added: "We are playing without a striker. For many years I don't think about transfer windows especially when we have incredible things to play for."

The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with Haaland, but City are seemingly the frontrunners to sign the Norway international, who has scored 82 goals in 85 appearances for Dortmund across all competitions.
