Team News: John Stones, David Silva return for Manchester City

John Stones and David Silva return to the starting lineup for Manchester City's Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium.

John Stones and David Silva have been recalled to the starting lineup for Manchester City's Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.

Stones, who has been sidelined with an adductor problem in recent weeks, has not featured for City since early March, but is thrown straight back into the starting lineup by manager Pep Guardiola this afternoon.

The champions also bring Silva back into the team after he was rested last time out against West Ham United, with Ilkay Gundogan and Aymeric Laporte the two players to drop out of the side.

Kyle Walker has overcome a groin injury to feature, but Sergio Aguero remains sidelined so Gabriel Jesus will lead the line once more, with support from Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.

City go into the game knowing that a victory and two goals will see them set new Premier League records for the number of points, wins and goals in a single campaign.

Relegation-threatened Huddersfield have also made two changes to their starting lineup for the match, with captain Tommy Smith and Chris Lowe both returning to the side - the latter of whom makes his first Premier League start since January.

Smith faces the club where he spent eight years as a youth player, while midfielder Aaron Mooy will also come up against his former employers this afternoon.

Collin Quaner and Rajiv van la Parra are the two to make way for David Wagner's side, with both dropping to the bench this afternoon.
