Manuel Pellegrini: 'Manchester City can still win Premier League title'

Manuel Pellegrini is adamant that Manchester City can still win the Premier League title.

Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that Manchester City's title-winning pedigree means that they can still win the Premier League this season.

The Sky Blues sit nine points behind top-of-the-table Leicester City, who have played a game more than the Citizens.

Pellegrini led the club to the title in 2014 for what was their second league crown in three seasons, and the Chilean is adamant that his troops have the experience needed to bridge that deficit.

"If we are nine points behind the leader the range of error is less," he told a press conference ahead of tomorrow's trip to Liverpool.

"If the maths say you can do it, you must always trust you can do it. I am sure our team will continue growing from now until the end of the season.

"When you have experience, it's easier. When you see what happens over the seasons, you must trust."

Many of City's current squad were involved for both of their title successes, with the likes of Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, Vincent Kompany, Gael Clichy, Yaya Toure, David Silva and Sergio Aguero playing big roles in 2012 and 2014.
