Pep Guardiola has reached two goalscoring milestones as Manchester City manager, after his side thrashed Leeds United 7-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

First-half strikes from Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Kevin De Bruyne put the Citizens in control at the break, with Leeds failing to attempt a single shot on goal.

Riyad Mahrez's deflected effort four minutes after half time added a fourth for the hosts, before De Bruyne brilliantly rifled in his second of the night from 25 yards out to make it 5-0 just after the hour mark.

John Stones and substitute Nathan Ake then capped off a terrific night for the Premier League champions, extending their lead at the top of the table to four points and condemning Leeds to their heaviest Premier League defeat.

Foden's eight-minute opener was the 500th Premier League goal scored under Guardiola in just his 207th match in charge of the Citizens, breaking the previous top-flight record set by Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, who scored their 500th league goal under the German in his 234th game in charge earlier this season.

Guardiola also witnessed the 800th and 801st Man City goals scored under his tutelage across all competitions, when Stones smashed in the Sky Blues' sixth from close range in the 74th minute, before Ake headed home their seventh from Foden's corner four minutes later.

City will now be looking to extend their winning league run to eight matches when they travel to relegation-threatened Newcastle United on Sunday.
