Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could be out for up to six weeks

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says that Sergio Aguero is likely to miss between four and six weeks with a knee injury.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero could be out for up to six weeks after picking up a knee injury during the club's 1-0 victory over Everton at the weekend.

Sky Blues manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that his top scorer will likely be sidelined for between four and six weeks, but was quick to downplay the notion that they are over-reliant on him.

When asked to put a timeframe on the Argentina international's recovery, the Chilean told reporters: "Four, five, maybe six weeks. His recovery will depend. But our team does not depend on one player."

Aguero, who has scored 19 goals in 21 games this season, could be in contention for a return against Premier League leaders Chelsea at the end of January.
