Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's action in the FA Cup, including a shock defeat for Cardiff City and triumph for Aldershot Town.

Macclesfield Town have come from a goal down to defeat Cardiff City 2-1 at home and progress to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Nat Jarvis broke the deadlock for the Welsh side in the 57th minute, but Town's Matthew Barnes-Homer scored twice in the final five minutes including a penalty.

This is the first time that the Conference National side have reached the fourth round of the competition.

Championship club Middlesbrough came under some pressure from non-league Hastings United, but eventually won their third-round tie 4-1 at home.

Merouane Zemmama scored twice for the hosts and Andrew Halliday and Ishmael Miller added a goal apiece; Miller also saw his first-half penalty saved by Hastings goalkeeper Liam O'Brien.

Huddersfield Town also progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup, thanks to a narrow 1-0 win at Charlton Athletic.

Jermaine Beckford's strike in the 11th minute proved to be the difference between the two sides at The Valley.

Barnsley and Millwall too went through, edging past 10-man Burnley and Preston North End respectively 1-0.

League Two outfit Aldershot Town secured their place in the fourth round of the prestigious cup competition with a 3-1 victory over Rotherham United at home.

Danny Hylton's hat-trick saw Dean Holdsworth's side progress beyond the third round in the FA Cup for the first time since the club were reformed in 1992.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Derby County hammered Tranmere Rovers 5-0 at home, Sheffield United won 3-0 at Oxford United, Hull City drew 1-1 with Leyton Orient, Southend United recover from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday and Milton Keynes Dons played out a goalless draw.
