Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge lasted less than 20 minutes of this evening's 3-0 win over Bayern Munich before being forced off through injury.
The striker was introduced as a 68th-minute sub at the Allianz Arena and scored his side's third goal with an exquisite chip to seal their place in the final of the Audi Cup.
However, in the process of scooping the ball over the keeper Sturridge was seen grimacing in pain and, despite attempting to play on, he was forced to limp off shortly afterwards with an apparent quadriceps injury.
The setback is a blow for the England international following an injury-plagued 2016-17 campaign, having come through each of Liverpool's previous five friendlies unscathed before this evening.
Liverpool will now wait for news on the severity of the problem, but Sturridge could be a doubt for the opening game of the season against Watford on August 12.
