Leicester City reportedly have no intention of allowing Caglar Soyuncu to depart the King Power Stadium on Thursday.

Leicester City have reportedly told Caglar Soyuncu that he will not be leaving the King Power Stadium on Thursday.

Throughout the summer, the Foxes tried and failed to fend off Chelsea's advances for Wesley Fofana, eventually parting ways with the Frenchman for £70m.

Wout Faes has been signed as his replacement, leaving Brendan Rodgers with the same number of options for the centre of his backline.

However, the Turkish transfer window has been open a week longer than the rest of mainland Europe, providing options to players who may be open to a move.

Soyuncu falls into that category with the defender no longer regarded as first choice and having less than a year remaining on his contract.

Nevertheless, according to Football Insider, Leicester have no plans to cash in on the 26-year-old on Thursday evening.

Despite the club's well-documented financial issues, the sale of Fofana and acquiring a much less-expensive alternatives has helped the East Midlands outfit balance the books.

Although Brendan Rodgers would be in a position where he could sign a free agent, it appears that he would prefer to retain the services of Soyuncu.

The report claims that each of Besiktas and Galatasaray had been keen to sign Soyuncu before being rebuffed by Leicester.

Since leaving Freiburg to move to Leicester in August 2018, Soyuncu has made a total of 124 appearances in all competitions.

However, he has failed to play a single minute of the club's 2022-23 Premier League campaign, one which is yet to produce a win in six matches.

Instead, the Turkey international has been limited to an outing in the EFL Cup against Stockport County, a tie which ended goalless before Leicester prevailed in a penalty shootout.

A wide range of clubs are likely to try to sign Soyuncu for a cut-price fee in January, aware that Leicester will not want to lose another player on a free transfer with six other players in the same contractual position.
