Danny Drinkwater: 'We won't lose confidence'

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater is adamant that his side will not lose confidence in their form despite falling to Stoke City in their last Premier League outing.

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater believes that his side will not lose confidence in their fight against relegation from the Premier League despite their defeat to Stoke City.

The Foxes had staged an upturn in form over the New Year period with wins over Hull City and Aston Villa, as well as coming from two goals down to claim a draw against Liverpool at Anfield.

Nigel Pearson's men also defeated Newcastle United in the FA Cup, but their momentum was halted at the King Power Stadium last week as Bojan Krkic fired the Potters to a 1-0 victory.

Drinkwater told the club's official website: "The loss of the three points is disappointing. The first half we were the better team but the second half we just looked a bit flat. Based on the first half performance, I felt we would be disappointed not to take at least a point.

The past few results have been brilliant for us and we were pretty confident before the game. It was one of those games where we were cancelling each other out. That may be frustrating for the fans but we are trying to do things the right way and unluckily we couldn't do it.

"The positive is that the teams around us lost as well. We still remain in touching distance, which is good for us. We will try and play our best no matter who we are up against but if we have produced our best performances against the better teams then so be it. The confidence is still there and will never go."

Leicester face Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
