Vladimir Petkovic unmoved over Lazio future

Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic insists that he has been given no reason to question his future at the Olimpico following yesterday's victory over Cagliari Calcio.

Lazio coach Vladimir Petkovic has insisted that he has received no indication from the club that his position is under threat, while looking to the positives of yesterday's 2-0 victory over Cagliari Calcio.

The Aquile returned to winning ways last weekend thanks to the impact of substitute Miroslav Klose, who quickly scored before winning a penalty, which Antonio Candreva duly dispatched.

Petkovic has admitted that failure to beat Cagliari would have put the Serb under intense pressure, but credited his players for managing a nervy atmosphere to claim three precious points.

He told Sky Sport Italia: "There is some positivity now, but we're aware of the pressure coming from the outside. We heard the jeers when we started to make some mistakes and felt the pressure psychologically, but I must compliment the lads for keeping calm till the very end.

"I told the players at half-time to enjoy their football and get back to having fun with the sport.

"I had no signs from the club suggesting I would be in trouble if we failed to win. We were relaxed in the second half, believed in what we had to do and in the end achieved it."

Lazio are back in action on Wednesday night as they search for a first away win of the campaign, against AC Milan at the San Siro.
