Vincenzo Montella blasts "ugly" Fiorentina

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella lets rip at his side for their "ugly" 3-0 defeat at Napoli.

Vincenzo Montella has blasted his Fiorentina side for their 'heartless' performance in Sunday's "ugly" 3-0 defeat to Napoli.

Goals from Dries Mertens, Marek Hamsik and Jose Callejon proved enough as the Viola slumped to their third defeat in six games, and Montella admits that their form is "worrying".

"It was ugly. We had no character, no heart - that is worrying," he told reporters. "We didn't have any incisiveness or pace to us and we could have conceded more. We had no security in defence and no conviction.

"We wanted to control the game early on, but we didn't have the right approach. I have not seen a team as superior as Napoli were."

Fiorentina sit sixth in Serie A, eight points adrift of the Champions League qualification places.
